About Us

We support our community through a holistic approach to health and healthy families, integrating good nutrition, education, fun and positive opportunities into the daily life of our center. We turn no one away, and we tailor our activities and services for kids, teens and adults alike to meet the needs that arise in the community.

Founded in 1995 by local parents concerned about the lack of positive youth activities in this isolated area, BMCYF has retained its commitment to a grass-roots approach of responding directly to community need for more than 25 years.

Main Street Community Center

BMCYF operates a community center at 364 Main Street in West Point, California, that is continuously busy with art workshops, music, games, youth outreach activities, writing classes, playgroups, parent supports groups, and other community events.

Our 3000 square foot center has a fully-stocked art area, a piano, and instruments for children. Current activities include: a First 5 Play Group, After School Art, Free Community Dinners, Yoga, Zumba, Senior Brunches, Women’s Art Group, and Open Mic Night.

West Point Community Garden

BMCYF has been operating the West Point Community Garden for ten years. Located at 174 Spink Road in downtown West Point, the Community Garden has become a thriving organic vegetable garden and a community gathering space.

Our two-acre garden includes twelve large raised beds, three open crop areas, flower gardens, a rammed earth greenhouse, gazebo, a full-size bocce ball court, fruit trees, a spruce grove, community gathering space, and several sheds and storage buildings.

Volunteers meet every Friday morning, weather permitting, 9:30am at 174 Spink Road.

Community-Driven

Our activities and services are not driven by grants or staff, but by our community. We strive to provide support and resources to grassroots initiatives that empower community members or respond to a need.

BMCYF serves home-cooked family style meals two nights per week, every Tuesday and Thursday at 5pm. These meals are free and open to everyone.

BMCYF is always growing and changing in response to community input. Join us anytime.
